[Service-Learning International Symposium and Expo]

[From Service-Learning and Leadership Office of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HK PolyU)]

We are pleased to announce the International Symposium and Expo on Service-Learning and Socially Responsible Global Citizenship, to be held online on July 9-10, 2021.

2020 has been tough for all of us. COVID-19 forced us to do social distancing and put lots of us into lockdown.

Learning about how others have adjusted and adapted their practices and learning can be a stepping stone to a “new future”, with far-reaching potentials for benefitting the community at large and reaching out to the most excluded ones, both right now and in the future beyond COVID-19.

Through this online Symposium and Expo, we target to provide spaces for like-minded colleagues to share their research, practices, expertise and new ideas related to SL and Global Citizenship. All ideas are welcomed, and in particular, we want to know how you have adapted to the “new normal”.

We are inviting submissions on e-posters, videos, and proposals for holding virtual interactive workshops. The content can be showcasing service-learning projects, or some research on Service-Learning (SL) or community engagement. Both faculty-led and student-initiated projects are welcome.

We are much honored to have Professor Harry R. Lewis (Harvard University) as well as Dr Luke Terra (Stanford University) confirmed as our speakers, and are lining up other exciting speakers and activities right now. The submission details are below, and updates will be announced on the event website (https://www.polyu.edu.hk/sllo/symposium/).  We really hope that you can help to bring this message to your university partners and students who may be of interest. Please do let us know if we can be of help in answering any questions you may have. We hope to see submissions from Vietnam soon!  Thank you very much!
